The European Childhood Obesity Group (ECOG) and Make Mothers Matter (MMM), an international NGO raising awareness about the essential role of mothers in ensuring economic, social and cultural development, have joined forces to survey the challenges European parents face in promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing overweight and obesity of their children.
The idea builds on the successful survey “What Matters to Mothers in Europe” conducted in 2011 with 12,000 mothers from 16 EU countries.
Following the survey, ECOG and MMM intend to share the findings and make them available to the scientific community, policy makers and public health stakeholders. The main objective of the initiative is to improve the design of prevention programmes and policies.
